Local Student Performer Selected to Perform at Carnegie Hall

Jacob Stewart, a student at Indian Creek High School, has been selected for the High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. Jacob will perform as a bass vocalist in February with the High School Honors Concert Choir. Participation in the Honors Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated young performers from across the world.

Jacob auditioned for the Honors Performance Series and was recently accepted after a review by the Honors Selection Board. Acceptance to the elite group is a direct result of the talent, dedication, and achievements demonstrated in their application and audition recording.

Jacob has studied music for 7 years and is a member of Rhythmaires, Indian Creek High School’s competition show choir, the Indian Creek High School Jazz Choir, Concert Choir, Symphonic Band, and Marching Band. Jacob was selected as a blue ribbon soloist at the 2024 ISSMA Jazz and Show Choir Competition, has been a featured performer in 4 different musical productions while in high school, including the lead role of “Seymour” in "Little Shop of Horrors" in 2025. He also served as the ICHS Marching Band Drum Major for the 2025 season. In response to his selection, Jacob said, “I am excited for the opportunity to perform with so many talented people in one of the greatest venues in the world.”

Jacob will join performers from across the United States and abroad for a special performance at the world-famous Carnegie Hall, a venue that marks the pinnacle of musical achievement. The finalists will come together in New York City, where they will have the opportunity to learn from world-renowned conductors, work with other performers, and get a taste of New York. The Honors Performance will take place Sunday, February 8, 2026, and is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased beginning approximately 60 days prior to the performance through the Carnegie Hall box office.

Working with these conductors and performing at these renowned music halls is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that these musicians will never forget.

The Honors Performance Series was created to showcase accomplished individual student performers on an international level by allowing them to study under master conductors and perform in world renowned venues.
